So here we are, Book 3 of the Bad Boys. And wow…What a freakin’ story. Now we follow Nash and Marissa. And finish the rest of the crazy that’s been going on. And OMG, it goes down…In the first two books we all fell in love with Cash. How can you not??? The way he loves Olivia, and how he protects her. But NOW, we have Nash; all dark and mysterious. And Marissa. I love Marissa in his book. As a person she has completely evolved. I kinda wanted to just punch her in the face in the other books. What a stuck up snob. And the way she treated Olivia. She deserved what she got. Okay, NO she didn’t! LOL How mean of me to say. But she learned her lesson that’s for sure. Got a dose of reality. And then some…..
Now she’s been rescued and is left with the reality of the REAL Nash. A Nash she knows nothing about (or so she thinks). A Nash that is NOT quite so inviting, a Nash that is so closed off, and sad and just down right cold. And she is so torn. Marissa has never reacted to a man this way. Not even Cash.
Nash is no good for Marissa and he warns her.
“I’m trouble.
I know.
You’ll probably get hurt.
I know.
Then you can’t say I didn’t warn you.
I know.”
But sometimes you can’t stop fate from stepping in and taking over. Even though Nash is warning her off, he wants her. Thinking it can only just be something physical. Yeah right!!!!
This distraction is good for Marissa. She is so sick of her old life, with her rich friends. She’s trying to change and show everyone she is not so shallow, so yeah, why not indulge in some Nash and lose herself.
“I can make you forget everything else. I can make sure that you feel nothing but pleasure, that you can’t think past what I’m doing to your body.”
Oh Nash that’s so HOT, but dude, it’s not that easy. You’re playing with her heart and mind. And yes, you did play with her once… a long time before. WOW, and that totally blew my mind. New Orleans….WOW!!!!!!!!!! My mouth dropped…How could he???
“I’m done. This is too much for me. You warned me and I didn’t listen. That’s my own fault. The only thing I can do now is keep from making the same mistake again.”
OMG that crushed me….It crushed Marissa, and yep, it crushed Nash. That dude has feelings for Marissa. He loves her. But he doesn’t think he’s worthy of her. He’s a criminal, and being with her would ruin her career. Best to stay away…and leave…sail away...
Insert heart wrenching pain in my chest. Seriously, this was just hurtful. I cried for her, I couldn’t help myself.
And in between all of this, Nash and Cash are trying to get their plans together to take down those bastards that ruined their lives, killed their mother, and put their father behind bars. And Marissa plays a huge part in helping them. And what does Marissa get out of all of this, a heart broken. In all honestly, so does Nash.
“We just didn’t have enough time. And now we never will. I just thought…I had hoped…”
Yeah Marissa, we all thought…we all hoped. She’s killing me. I feel for her. WHY did you leave her Nash, you freakin coward! Alright, in Nash’s defense he’s a shell of a man. He doesn’t think he is any good for her. The last 7 years of his life he has spent on a barge, secluded from any normal people, indulging in a criminal lifestyle that he never wanted. He had a life at home, he was smart, had dreams. And they were taken away.
This book had me on a roller coaster the whole time with Nash and Cash and their mission to bring down the Russian’s, and the love that Nash and Marissa are waiting to explore.
In the end, I knew Nash would come through, because his love for Marissa is there and stronger than he thought.
“I’ve sailed all over the world trying to get away from you, trying to get away from what you make me feel. All I’ve found is that there’s no ocean big enough to drown out thoughts of you, no place far enough to escape your pull. You find me. You always find me. When I was lost at sea, you found me. When I was lost in life, you found me. You found me and you saved me.”

Everything for Us M Leighton 9781444780345 Books Reviews
This book was really just okay for me.
I didn't love or hate Marissa, which honestly kind of surprised me since I didn't really think I would like her at all though I got mighty sick of her pity party. I wasn't particularly a fan of Nash. His supposed depth didn't come through for me. He was just angry. All the time. The two of them together were blah at best. Nothing about their relationship felt genuine to me. The two of them have absolutely no relationship building at all. I don't think they ever had a real conversation. They annoyed each other, they hooked up, they couldn't get each other out of their minds, but I couldn't figure out why. They were supposedly falling in love, but there was no indication that they even liked each other. The whole thing just felt forced and like it just happened for the sake of where the author wanted the story to go.
Which brings me to my next point. Nash and Marissa's awkward non-relationship was mostly the focus of this book. (How I'm not exactly sure how since the two of them didn't really have a relationship.) The focus should have been on the legal battle and the RICO case stuff. That would have been much more interesting. That was going on, but I felt like the whole thing was just kind of glossed over.
Which really kind of sums up the whole book for me, it was long, but not a thing happened. Oh, and I would have liked to have seen more of Cash and Olivia. I loved them together and would have liked to have seen more of them. They were supposedly all working together on this case, but we hardly saw them.
I typically read books in about 2-3 days. 3 days tops! This book took me 5 days to complete. And before bed I would pick up an older book before starting it. This book just wasn't doing it for me. Her writing is great, but the story for book 3 was just lacking. Lacking emotion and the "umph" book 1 and 2 had. I also think it has to do with the fact that she is trying to get us to like the two unlikable characters in the book. Marissa who has changed and Nash who has issues.
There were parts of the story that were predictable and parts that were just anti-climatic in my opinion - especially the ending. The New Orleans "surprise" was unappealing and unnecessary - it didn't have real purpose give the reactions to it.
I like the author very much. Met her in Vegas and she was a sweetheart, but this book was just un-relatable unfortunately.
