Cold Blooded A Bentz/Montoya Novel Lisa Jackson 9780821769348 Books

I just started reading this series on vacation. I've read the first four, but only because I bought the entire series. If could return them, I would. Here is the plot line for every single one I've read so far:
(Somewhat SPOILER ALERT!!!!!, unless you've read any of them, in which case you've read all of them.)
"Woman in Danger" is one of the main characters. She has copper/reddish hair and golden eyes.
"Man Who Can Save Her," who is in law enforcement (cop/ex-cop/lawyer), is the other main character. He's sworn off women, due to previous heartache.
Woman in Danger and Man Who Can Save Her SHOULD NOT be together, but they cannot help themselves...while Man Who Can Save Her is protecting Woman in Danger, they throw caution to the wind and make love, even though the Woman in Danger "never does anything like this."
"Psycho Religious Killer" also wants to have sex with the Woman in Danger (well, he's the reason that she's In Danger), but because he is Doing God's Will, he will just kill her instead. He is not happy that she is a "whore" who is "rutting" Man Who Can Save Her, so he must torment her and kill others associated with her. It's likely Psycho Religious Killer wearing a body suit.
Someone else is wearing a "natty" suit. Natty sounds like "ratty" but means pretty much the opposite.
The Man Who Can Save Her is giving up smoking and/or drinking, but it's not easy.
Someone is adopted and YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE who the real parents are.

I think that sums up every single book I've read so far in this series. Save your money and just read one of them. If you are going to read all of them, don't read them back to back, at least not the first three. It's very confusing how similar all the "Women In Danger" are and you start to mix their back stories in your head.

Cold Blooded A Bentz/Montoya Novel Lisa Jackson 9780821769348 Books Reviews

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to those who like this type of mystery book. Enjoy this this author’s books.
Lisa Jackson cannot write a book that isn't thrilling and captivating. She hooks you at the beginning, has the plot twist that has you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next, and a great surprise ending.
I assume that in chapter 20, the author meant to write "grisly" instead of "grizzly" death? Pretty sad that editors miss something like that, but I saw little things like that throughout the book. Hey , let me be the editor. Gotta pay better than my current job.
I was kind of disappointed with this sequel, felt like I was reading about the same killer from the first book except the name was different. What irked me the most is the female characters in Lisa Jackson's books always claim they are not the type of women to sleep around bout days after meeting the male protagonist they're in bed together. Olivia was love weary and not the type to sleep around til she met Bentz not only did she sleep with him but almost slept with someone else not soon afterwards. I like the twist Jackson threw in there but felt the being was a bit rushed.
Lisa Jackson is masterful. She never fails to weave oh their a great mystery while maintaining the commitment to romance needed to be true to that genre as well. I really enjoy getting to know her primary characters. They're becoming my friends. Check her out. I think you'll become a fan, too!
This is a very gruesome dark thriller, keeps you guessing until the end. I love the main characters and the fact that you can read this series as stand alones.
Suspense is good but with strange development.
I enjoyed reading this book until the last few chapters.
Spoiler

The main female character Olivia is having visions of gruesome killings. She can see the killer hunting for his pray and then killing. She goes to the local police detective to tell about her visions. Detective Bentz who was very skeptical at the beginning finally believes Olivia is not a nutcase. Every time Olivia has a visions he asks her about the tiniest details. Unfortunately Olivia cannot see the killer's face because he is always wearing a mask. All she could tell about the killer he wad tall, athletic and had blue eyes. And then the killer kills again and he is not wearing his mask. Olivia was able to see his face in her vision. It's a breakthrough, right? She tells Detective Bentz she saw the murderer but instead of sending her to the station to work with a police artist he tells Olivia to go home. Only after Rick's daughter was abducted he sends Olivia to the police station to work on a sketch. WHY did't he think about creating the sketch earlier? He was all about details before. It could save 2 lives and possibly prevent 2 abductions? It makes no sense at all. Except it made it possible to rid off Father James so it would be easier for Rick to deal with his insecurities and trust issues.
Also I have to mention poor formating. I was reading a version. There are no space between different scenes. Dialogs are hard to read and often it's not clear to whom a phrase belongs.
