I have never been much of a novel reader, but since I started reading Gregg Olsen's novels, I have been amazed how real the stories can be. This particular novel drew me in on the very first page.

Nicole Foster has her faults but in the end she does what is best. The main portion of the story revolves around a murder investigation intertwined with Nicole Foster's own life. What a fantastic read. I have been following and reading Gregg Olsen books for a very long time and hope to read lots more. Thanks for another wonderful book.

I am giving this book 5 stars! Rolling off the ending of the last book, this book starts out at a climactic moment and then we backtrack and the story continues as Nicole deals with the aftermath of what her sister has done and what she has to live with knowing. The ending actually turned out better than I thought it would. I always think I know what direction Greg is going in and then he shocked me to my core! Definitely a must-read!
Loved it! 2nd book in Nicole Foster series. The twists and turns made it really hard to put down! Thank you Gregg Olsen for yet another great book.
Loved the characters.The original crime was very topical,many similar issues are in current headlines,although not many that are intentionally done ,as in murder.
This book, like all of Gregg Olsen's books grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go. Before you are even half way through the book you feel like you have known the characters through it all. Olsen does such a great job developing the characters. The storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat and wondering what is going to happen next. This book is great as a standalone or as a continuation.
I was hooked from the first page! A twisty, turny sequel to The Sound Of Rain that does not disappoint, and can be a stand alone read as well. I was happily surprised at how much I loved this book, even more than the first one. The connection I made with these characters was so solid and it was all I could do to put it down and participate in the real world. A fast paced read with excitement, danger, horrifying scenarios and even a bit of humor. I couldn't have asked for more!
I was able to get an advanced reader copy of The Weight of Silence. I'm so glad that I had just read The Sound of Rain. This continuing story of detective Foster hooked me from the first page and I couldn't put it down. Nicole Foster is a complex character with so many demons in her past but she doesn't let that define her. I would highly recommend both books in this series.
Olsen has a habit of drawing you in and evoking emotions for and about his characters. It is the same with Nicole Foster. She is flawed, real, and raw. I stayed up until midnight to download this as soon as it was released. I only stopped when I fell asleep, only to pick it up the next day. Now that I am done, I have but one question- how long until book 3?
